Named after a place in Cheshire, England, Ridley Park was founded by Isaac Hinckley in 1870. As the President of
the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad, Hinckley established Ridley Park with the intention of creating
a main line that would cut through the borough.
As of the 2000 census, there were 7,196 people, 3,015 households, and 1,890 families residing in the borough.
