What is Special Education?

A child with a disability has a right to special education and related searches that are provided:

  • At public expense
  • Under public supervision and direction
  • Without charge to parents
  •  In conformity with an Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.), which means that students with disabilities who need special education must receive a free appropriate public education (F.A.P.E) in the Least Restrictive environment (L.R.E).
