History of Woodlyn Elementary School

Woodlyn Elementary School

Woodlyn Elementary School sits on 5.7 acres.  Records indicate the original construction began in 1912 with additions in 1942, 1953, and 1964.  In 1964, the original 1912 ten classroom structure was demolished.  In 1953, the Ridley Township School Board awarded contracts for the construction of a multi-purpose room, kitchen, and other auxiliary areas.  Due to increasing enrollment, an addition was constructed in 1964 to add more classrooms, a library, medical office, and other auxiliary areas.
